Anni Luce – New Album OUT!
A maggio 2020 abbiamo pubblicato il nostro primo LP, “Origami”. Il nome della band era One dying wish, all’epoca in cui lo abbiamo scelto un’indicazione chiara di cosa ma soprattutto come volevamo suonare. Quel disco ci ha permesso di raggiungere posti e persone diverse, di sentirci parte di qualcosa.
Ci siamo sempre fatti molte domande e, ad un certo punto, alla fine dell’estate del 2022, ci siamo resi conto di non avere più tutte le risposte, di non essere più completamente a nostro agio con il linguaggio e alcuni degli ambienti che frequentavamo come band. Quella stessa estate avevamo registrato un disco, con il quale per lungo tempo non abbiamo capito come relazionarci.
Il nostro nuovo disco, è intitolato “Anni luce”, come misura di distanza da chi intorno a noi fa, citando Gaber, “finta di essere sano”, ma anche, con licenza poetica, come se questi anni di chiusura in noi stessi ci avessero aiutati a capire cosa vogliamo essere e cosa no, avessero illuminato la nostra via, avessero riacceso in noi il sacro fuoco. Sacrofuoco, appunto, è il nuovo nome della band, per il resto composta sempre dalle stesse quattro persone che componevano One dying wish.
Abbraccia il conflitto, accogli la possibilità del fallimento, la vulnerabilità è la nostra speranza. Sacrifica una parte di te per diventare parte del tutto, insieme possiamo domare le fiamme che ci consumano.
Insieme possiamo ardere di vita nuova.

In May 2020 we released our first LP, “Origami”. The name of the band was One dying wish, at the time we chose it a clear indication of what but above all how we wanted to play. That record allowed us to reach different places and people, to feel part of something.
We have always asked ourselves many questions and, at a certain point, at the end of the summer of 2022, we realized that we no longer had all the answers, that we were no longer completely comfortable with the language and some of the environments we frequented as a band. That same summer we had recorded a record, which for a long time we didn’t understand how to relate to.
Our new album is entitled “Anni luce”, as a measure of distance from those around us who, quoting Gaber, “pretend to be healthy”, but also, with poetic license, as if these years of closing ourselves off had helped us to understand what we want to be and what we don’t, had illuminated our way, had rekindled the sacred fire within us. Sacrofuoco, in fact, is the new name of the band, otherwise still made up of the same four people who made up One Dying Wish.
Embrace conflict, welcome the possibility of failure, vulnerability is our hope. Sacrifice a part of yourself to become part of the whole, together we can tame the flames that consume us.
Together we can burn with new life.

La naturale alternanza del movimento respiratorio si è rotta, il primo meccanismo innato del corpo, sintomo di vita, si è fatto forzato, faticoso. Spaesati e spaventati, ci siamo abituati ad una nuova normalità, abbiamo perso di vista il male, abbiamo allontanato la cura. Abbiamo accettato di sopravvivere, anche a costo della nostra stessa vita. Ci siamo trincerati tra mura e confini, credendo che sarebbe bastato quanto avevamo portato dentro con noi.
Ma il calcolo razionale si è rivelato inesatto e la nostra fortezza si è fatta prigione. Siamo diventati sospettosi di ciò che avevamo lasciato fuori e, man mano che le risorse interne si assottigliavano, faticavamo sempre più a sintonizzarci con quanto avevamo intorno, che appariva lontano, estraneo, mentre cresceva la nostra paura, la nostra nevrosi quotidiana. Eravamo distanti anni luce da dove pensavamo di essere, da ciò che speravamo di diventare, le gambe avevano già ceduto mentre ci animava ancora l’illusione di poter trovare una via.

The natural alternation of the respiratory movement has broken, the first innate mechanism of the body, a symptom of life, has become forced, tiring. Disoriented and scared, we have become accustomed to a new normality, we have lost sight of the disease, we have distanced ourselves from the cure. We agreed to survive, even at the cost of our own lives. We entrenched ourselves between walls and borders, believing that what we had brought inside with us would be enough.
But the rational calculation proved to be incorrect and our fortress became a prison. We became suspicious of what we had left out and, as our internal resources dwindled, we struggled more and more to tune in to what was around us, which seemed distant, foreign, while our fear, our daily neurosis, grew. We were light years away from where we thought we were, from what we hoped to become, our legs had already given way while the illusion of finding a way still animated us.
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale.
